[Letter from Capt C. Alston — 12 April, 1794 — Rec'd [undecipherable]] Governors Island April 12^th 1794 Dear Sir I am now Stationed at this place without a single Tent I have built a Temporary Barracks of boards which will answer until the Tents are sent on, I have upwards of Thirty men and daily expect the same Number from New Brunswick, and by recruiting, hope in a short time to be One Hundred Strong.
