yours of the 9th of March was handed me by Captn Edans, together with the Blanks I am much Obligd to you for Honouring my [undecipherable: order] in favour of Majr Lewis — respecting my accounts against the united States, in the articles of war I find the pay annexed to My appointment as Muster Master is the pay of a Capt of Subsistance & Ten Dollars a Month for a horse I will be thankfull to [undecipherable] you will assist me in having them papers It may be thought at the Bureau of Philadelphia that the Business of Mustering the Troops in and out of Service in this District is attended with but little trouble and it would not [undecipherable] d the men be paraded at one place but it cannot be so, and the [undecipherable] I am Obliged to Spend my whole time at that Business alone and cannot Devote a Day in a Month to my Private Business Let it Say be what it may I must be gld to [undecipherable]
