Sir,
Your favor of the 4th instant I have received. My receipts for the 2000 dollars no doubt you have received from Genl Fish. —
I now enclose you my account of contingent expenses dated this day, with it vouchers, amount 1784 1/2 dollars
The rest of the money is paid out, but I have not had time to get the vouchers for it.
The pay of the ordnance men if any delay to the 1st of Octr I have not received. I have paid said men out of the contingent money. —
I have not yet had advice of the 1000 dollars being in New York — I expect they are there. —
I have informed Genl Knox it will be necessary to have deposited with Genl Fish for me 2000 dollars for contingent expenses in the course of the next month. —
