KNOW all MEN by these Presents That I John [undecipherable: Shindledasher] in the Pennsylvania Line in the United States Services for a full and valuable consideration to me in hand well and truly paid by Christian Haubert β of the [undecipherable] liberties before the sealing and delivery hereof, the receipt whereof I do hereby acknowledge, have and by these presents do grant, bargain lell assign release and confirm unto the said Christian Haubert and his heirs and assigns forever all my estate, right, title interest use possession property, claim and demand whatsoever, which I now have to all and singular the lands, pay, arrearages of pay, cloathing, rations, gratuities, or other demands due and and owing to me from the United States, or from any particular State for my services as aforesaid,βTO HAVE AND TO HOLD all and singular the above mentioned and assigned premises with the appurtenances unto him the said Christian Haubert his heirs and assigns for ever and do hereby nominate, constitute, and appoint him the said Christian Haubert his heirs and assigns my true and lawful Attorney irrevocable, to ask, demand, recover and receive of and from the United States, or from any particular State, or from any person or persons acting by from or under their or any of their authority, all and singular the said lands, pay, arrearages of pay, rations, gratuities and other demands, whatsoever due and owing to Me as aforesaid, and to receive and accept the same by grant or otherwise in his or their own name or names and to his or their own proper use and behoof forever, and also to sign seal and execute good and sufficient discharges for the same in due form of Law.
