I would be much obliged to you for your Certificate relative to the services of Lieut William Triplet formerly of Colonel Graysons Regiment and afterwards of Col Gibbs to which you belonged.
The Gentleman claims the commutation of five years full pay, but not having the absolute evidence before me where on to establish it, I cannot act without a certificate from some Field Officer of the Regiment that he continued in service to the 1st January 81, and was deranged under the act of Congress of the 3d & 21st October 1780.
