Sir,
the settlement of an account between the United States and Capt John Ingles of the late line of North Carolina, I find a balance due him for his subsistence from the 1st Jany 1782 to the 20th April 1783, in the sum of One hundred and eight dollars and 91 Cent no payment of which as heretofore has been made by law. I am therefore to request you will please to procure an appropriation for this amount. This claim was not barred by any act of limitation it having been presented some years since but for want of the necessary information, settlement was delayed untill now.
