I have received yours of this instant.
You will please to have a Boat in instant readiness to receive some dispatches for Major General Wayne which will leave this on the 25 instant. I shall write a Captain in charge as to provide a Guard for the boat but it will be proper that it be a fast sailing Boat and that the Men who row her are detained solely for the purpose and are well acquainted with the business as she must go quickly.
I had before I received your letter directed Mr Howell to transmit you four Months pay for the Troops on the upper parts of the Ohio and to request you to pay the same for which you should be allowed a reasonable compensation.
This money will be sent by the person who carries the dispatches alluded to —
