I shall write a Captain in charge as to provide a Guard for the boat but it will be proper that it be a fast sailing Boat and that the Men who row her are detained solely for the purpose and are well acquainted with the business as she must go quickly. I had before I received your letter directed M^r Howell to transmit you four Months pay for the Troops on the upper parts of the Ohio and to request you to pay the same for which you should be allowed a reasonable compensation.
