Dear General [Editors Note: Two lines under the word ‘General’] Citizen Genet is disponsed to leave me in the lurch relative to the accoutrements provided for his nation, indeed if he was to take them, I know not how his is to pay for them he has offred me Bills in France but they will not answer___ permit me to solicit your [undecipherable] assistence in this [undecipherable] and that you will take them as a fair value = transfer[undecipherable]service____ they are [undecipherable] Boxes with Belts, sword belts with Bayonet scabords, and are fit for service & [undecipherable] packed for transportation, your prompt answer in this [undecipherable] will greatly [undecipherable] Dr. General __ Your most [undecipherable] Humble Srt.
