Head quarters [undecipherable] [undecipherable] Oct [undecipherable] [17]94 The Honble the Secretary of War Sir, I have the honor to enclose you a Statement of my disbursements for the Q^r M^r Department to this date, with an account of funds that will be necessary for the present Campaign, and support of the Department during the ensuing Winter, exclusive of What post Craig demands, which I trust will be made requisite on his duty or circumstances may require. The amounts of Q^r M^r [undecipherable] being [undecipherable] that the [undecipherable] President [undecipherable] therein will be not objected to have [undecipherable] on [undecipherable] [undecipherable] by sufficient to raise money by the [undecipherable] demands which are enclosed. I have endeavored to forward Statements of any sums which cannot be furnished at the Treasury expence as expected but for my self I [undecipherable] responsible that they [undecipherable] be collected in reasonable [undecipherable] fees. I [undecipherable] expend the [undecipherable] sums more in a few days [undecipherable] in ready and I do not conceive that the Army is deficient in any material Article necessary for a Campaign. The stores came on here, but have been so far inferior to each Department of good quality, and without loss or deficiency except upon Articles of the Cavalry Cloathing being damaged [undecipherable] you will be particularly informed by the General. As the Commander in Chief wrote you by this office daily I will not trouble you with any further Observations, General returns of the force shall be forwarded as soon as possible after the 1^st of October.
