M^r Davidson informed me that he lodged his Master Ells with M^r Allison at Philadelphia; Some of the Mem- bers from this State to Congress if I am not greatly mistaken told me they saw M^r Allisons Receipt for the Money; of these facts further enquiry shall be made. The next hist[ory] will send forward my Report, and that you may examine the files of your Office to know if their may be any possibility of the Monies connected with what I give brought on to his Country in this case, I have Sent you a Copy of M^r Howell's the late Paymaster Abstracts of the Sums paid into my hands and his directions concerning the same.
