[Page 1 wholly illegible] Sir Pittsburgh 16 August 1793 I have Received your favor of the 9^th Instant, accompanied by a letter from Mr. Hodgdon, Inclosing two thousand five hundred & Eighty [undecipherable] Dollars in Post Notes During the Short time the Post is detained here, it is not in my power to ascertain with precision, the Amount of [undecipherable] that may be absolutely necessary before the 1^st of September — [undecipherable] by next Post Point out the Special Periods in which the [undecipherable] [undecipherable] been addition to my Estimate as [undecipherable] of Ammunition, I have Appris'd that the [undecipherable] large Provisions [undecipherable] by the [undecipherable] General, and since had formed, from different parts of the Country. Incident to [undecipherable] boats, the freight ought to have been paid for before this time; that being is therefore Immediately wanted. I Shall Attend to your Instructions Respecting the [undecipherable] Returns — On the 11^th Capt Rhett, and [undecipherable] Set off, for their Quarters, in whose Charge I have Sent forward all the Stores that have Come to hand here Capt [undecipherable] Depart[ment] together with Sundry Articles Provided here. — Copies of Capt Rhett's and [undecipherable] Invoices, are herewith Inclosed; I have Also Inclosed, an Invoice of Clothing he this Day Received, being all the [undecipherable] of Consignment on hand. Capt Rhett has left Lieut Reed, with Fifty Men here to [undecipherable], to mend the Boats, which Shall be Sent forward as Soon as [undecipherable], to [undecipherable] them again. Oliver Wolcott [undecipherable] was furnished with a Copy of it. — I am Sorry I have not time before the departure of this Post, to Acknowledge the Receipt of Col.
