[Letter. No 9 at War
9 Augt. 1793]
War department
August 9 1793
Sir.
Permit me so far to trespass again upon your kindness as to request you to make the enquiry whether the public could have One thousand good Rifles made at Lancaster and its vicinity, at what price, and how short a time. Perhaps the contract, if we could obtain one upon proper limitations, might be extended to the number of One thousand five hundred.
Upon receiving the answer to this letter, I will communicate the result to the Secretary of the Treasury, who may make a final arrangement upon the subject.
I am
Sir
with great esteem
Your humble servant
