You are hereby with the approbation of the President of the United States appointed temporally an Agent for the Department of War in the Territory of the United States South of the Ohio. Your pay will be at the rate of one thousand Dollars per annum and two rations of forage per day, and in case of your being with the troops in the field three rations per day.
Your pay and emoluments to commence on the Sixth ultimo when you entered upon the preparative parts of your duties.
