Yesterday you addressed us mentioning a former defect between us and about Niagara. At that meeting, you said, we did not come to a right Understanding, that you Deputies did not fully explain your meaning to us, nor we ours to them. That you Deputies we might fully understand each other and those you Delegated but that what you had to say should be put into our long then handing us a paper you said — "this is the meaning of our Brother—
Brothers— that Paper was read to the Commissioners of the United States, and it speaks to them these words, to wit
"Brothers, the Deputies we can by you did not fully explain our meaning. We have therefore sent these to meet you once more that you may fully understand the great question we have to ask of you, and to which we expect an explicit answer, to wit
Brothers, you we sent here by the United States in order to make peace with us the confederate Indians."
"Brothers — you know very well that the Boundary line which was then between the White People and us, to the Treaty of Fort Stanwix, was the River Ohio."
