Sir,
Your letter of the 18th Instant has been received, and the Packet for the Comptroller has been to him.
Some time ago I directed Lt Col. Hodge to make provision for sending down to Head Quarters all the troops carrying certain garrison which were directed — I suppose the detachments at Marrietta and Gallipolis must have their boats with them.
As Captain Hall is in the rear of the command which are on their march for the present the detachment must wait at Pittsburg to convey down the ohio all the stores destined for the Army — The enclosed letter to him, is to that effect which you will deliver.
