Sir — Pittsburgh 19^th July 1798 — I have Received your letter of the 1^st Instant together with a Packet for the Commander in Chief and letters for Officers at Head Quarters. Lieut Glenn w^th his Detachment of Rifle Corps & Cornet Buck with the dismounted Dragoon, Embarked on the [undecipherable] Governor St Clair set off same time I have sent forward in charge of L^t Glenn all the Stores that were then on hand, a Copy of which is herewith Inclosed, together with an Invoice of Stores Received Since last Post. Cap^t Pike and Louis Detachment Embarked [this] Morning, by this Escort I shall send a few Articles that have since come to hand. By last Post I inclosed Returns of [undecipherable] up to the 1^st of this Month, together with an Abstract of my Disbursements ending same time, and by this Post Expected to have Completed an Estimate of further Objects of Expenditure, but have been prevented by my Indispensible attention to the Stores sent forward in Charge of Lieut Glenn, and since, by preparing for Embarkation of Cap^t Pikes Detachment, and Stores sending in his Charge. In a former Letter I mentioned that upwards of Three Thousand Dollars was due for Forage already Transported to Fort Washington and Expected to have been Enabled to have discharged those Acc^ts without their entering into View with other Objects.
