Sir
I have received Your Letter of the 28 Ultimo together with A Return of Clothing [undecipherable] to be on the Road to this Place.
I expected by this Post A further Supply & Ct to have enabled one to have discharged the Claims against the War M Departmt up to the fore of this Month. I was very anxious in my Present Situation having agreed to instructions of the Lieu Genl made considerable Purchase of Forage Horses Waggons Boats Iron &c. for all of which I am Accountable— The Delga. Promised to Establish funds for one in Philadelphia, but this has not been done. his letters may have miscarried or some [undecipherable] may have preferred to prevent him. I have no doubt as to the Sincerity of his intention.
Be Pleased to take the trouble of finding one about 100th Loaf Sugar. Mr Craig concludes that the late letters from India have not brought any Chintz with them —
