Several large accounts for Forage is still unpaid; Pay of Boatmen Boat Builders Carpenters Blacksmiths [and] others that Necessarily Paid at this post together with Materials purchased here Will amount to five thousand dollars in addition to the five Thousand received by last post, that Sum I expected the — The Quarter Master General would have furnished me with an Order that any Acct may be brought up to the first of [Next] Month but as the Quarter Master General has not had an Opportunity of making a Remittance I have most earnestly to Request that that Sum may be Remitted me as soon as Possible.
