Description

The Secretary of State has received from the Secretary of the Territory of the South a report on the activities of the territorial government to be presented to the President. There does not appear to be anything for the President to act on unless, as suggested by Mr. Smith, it should be necessary to lay before Congress the act of their legislature in 1792. Jefferson recommends consulting the Attorney General on the matter.
