I have forwarded, under cover to the Secretary of War, a Continuation of Warrants drawn on me, No 30, 239. with Muster and pay Rolls complete annexed thereto, and receipts amounting to 10, 039 70/100 dollars Which I will thank you to acknowledge as soon as they come to your hands. —

Your favor of the 13 instant and Continuation of Charges against Sundries, were duly received on the 21st.
I feel as easy as well as yourself, that Some irregularity may attend the accounts below. — But the money was forwarded, as General Wayne informed me, by the direction of the Secretary of war, and whatever may be the intention of the account hereafter, the measure of Sending it, was certainly a very necessary one.
I had previously to the receipt of your letter by Captain Mills forwarded to you my receipt for 138 dollars, which I have had refunded to me for your advances — the balance of forty three dollars will form part of it, be Re-
covered after a while. And some of it probably never will. — I have, however in Consequence of your indemnification lent you a receipt for the forty three dollars & that the amount may be Clap.
