The Honble the Secretary of War Pittsburgh April 10th 1794
Sir I am this moment honored with yours of the 1st Inst and do acknowledge myself perfectly satisfied with your affurance of the further supplies necessary for my Department.
I did not expect that Mr Belle would have an idea of presenting his Accounts for Settlement in person the [undecipherable] him will certainly not admit of this Method —
My Accts and Vouchers for expenditures to the date the last year have been, and to the 1st of April are now furnished to the Treasury for Settlement I shall forward returns of my purchases and the manner of distribution, as soon as possible — Contracts and [undecipherable] claims for, and shall be duly attend to.
I have the pleasure to inform you that my arrangements are made, as early as the 15th Inst. and that ample provision is made for Materials, forage grains in Transportation [undecipherable].
I shall now anxiously await the approach of the supplies so required the present year it would be very fortunate if it were possible to have them for the army on descending the River for many obvious reasons.
