Phil: April 20th 1793 —
Sir
This day the Post is not arrived. I can therefore only reply to your letter of the 6th Inst. which has come to hand — in the first place it is proper to note that 8000 Dollars in Bank Notes accompanied this — 5000 to complete the payment of 18000 Dollars, and 10.000 in part of a [undecipherable] raised for 40,000 — all of which I hope will [undecipherable] safely to hand. The estimate of Supplies for the Current year is committed to me, with orders to procure them and send them forward without delay, all is in Motion and you may rest assured that nothing on my part shall be wanting to comply with the Order equal to the wishes of all concerned. — The Commissioners for treating with the Indians are all present, and I believe [undecipherable] in a few days a large deputation from the [undecipherable] Party and them — it is determined to send in Goods until it is [undecipherable] within the [undecipherable] secured — If peace is completed, the presents which are to be given annually will be [undecipherable]
at such time and place as the Indians may chuse. — All the Articles wanted for the Current year will as soon as possible be on their way. — If the post due to day should not have letters for me I shall depend on hearing from you before you descend the River. — Captain Pier is now here and I shall present your draft, let me know when you receive Browne's Money —
I am Sir
your most Ob: Servant
