Sir
Inclosed is continuation of the abstract of wants. I have just recd a letter of St Insr covering the rect. of Majr Hughes & D. Bond, I hope you have been particular in your instructions to Officers actg as Paymasters, for I have found much difficulty in similar cases to make them understand the necessary duties
By Mr Belli & Majr. Rudolph who have just arrived from Fort Washington, I learn that Mr. Britt is very ill. I fear that the accts of the troops in that quarter particularly will not be settled agreeably to the arrangement. I observe a deviation from the System in your payment to Mr. Britt it being on estimate instead of being on [undecipherable] Rolls in the latter case it was proper to make him accountable to me, in the former the transaction is properly subordinate to the duties of the Paymaster.
I am &c
