The People of the State of New york, by the grace of God, free and Independent: To all to whom these presents shall come, Greeting: Know Ye that We having inspected the Records remaining in our Secretary's Office do find there certain Indian Deeds recorded in a Book of Indian Deeds commencing in the year 1780 on the words characters and figures following, to wit. "To all to whom these presents shall come or may concern: Know ye that We John [Ojistowner], John [undecipherable] [Touchamgumghen], [Bawhatomi], Paul [Towanquadoghgen], John [Blancoenough] of the [undecipherable] Tribe, [New Onyupache], [Joghbrough-aterhan], [Cornelius Chanoys], John [Onyathing], Nicholas [Jaquayte] — have of the Sustle Tribe, Sodowich [Iugbrawita], Paul [Samplashengen] and New [Supurondeonyqua], of the Bear Tribe, Sachems and chief warriors of the Oneida and Tuscarora Nations, by and with the advice and Consent and in the presence of the said Nations at a public Treaty held at Fort Harkmer in the County of Montgomery with his Excellency George Clinton Esquire Governor of the State of New york and the other Commissioners of Indian affairs of the said State for the consideration of the sum of Eleven thousand five hundred dollars in goods and money to us in hand paid at and before the unsealing and delivery of these presents, the receipt whereof we do hereby acknowledge; Have given granted, bargained and sold and by these presents Do fully freely, and absolutely grant Bargain and sell unto the People of the State of New york all that certain Tract of land situate in the said State and on the west side of the line commonly called the line of property Established in a treaty had at Fort [Harkmer] in 1788, and on the north side of the Pennsylvania line: beginning at the mouth of the [Unadie] or [Sanandida] River where the same empties into the Susquehanna River, thence up the said [Unadilla] or [Sanandida] River ten miles measured on a straight line, thence due west to the Chenango River, thence [Northerly] down the said Chenango River to where it empties into the said Susquehanna River and to the said line called the line of property, thence along the said line to the place of beginning, so as to comprehend all the lands belonging to the said Oneida and Tuscarora Nation lying south of the said line to be from the said [Unadilla] — [undecipherable] River to the Chenango River and north of the Division line between this State and the State of Pennsylvania, Together with all ways, waters, water courses, Rivers, Rivulets, Creeks and Streams of water and also all mines and minerals which are or may be found thereon, with the rights, liberties Priviledges, hereditaments and appurtenances thereto belonging or in any wise appertaining, and the Reversion & Reversions Remainders and Remainders and profits thereof, and also all the estate, Right, Title, Interest, property, claim & demand whatsoever which we have or can claim of in and to the same with the appurtenances. To Have and to Hold the said Tract of Land and premises aforementioned with the appurtenances unto the said People of the State of New york to their only proper use benefit and behoof forever. so that neither we, not any of us nor any of our heirs or successors, or any other claiming by form or words as shall can or may make any claim challenge or demand of in and to the same, but that our own immediate Brother the [undecipherable] of the State of New york shall and may may from henceforth peaceably quietly hold, keep & enjoy the same. [Bennation], [Robert Smith], [Samuel Jones], [Gabriel Furman] & [Peter Gansevoort] [Goevie?], Commissioners authorized for that purpose [upon] on behalf of the people of [State?] of [Oneida?]) with the [tribe or] nation of Indians said [Oneida?], It is on the [undecipherable] day of [September 1791?] convened and conducted as follows: That the [Oneidas?] do cede and grant all their lands to the people of the State of New york forever. [Secondly?], the said extended the following tract from. Beginning at the said land tract — opposite to the mouth of the [Canada] Creek & where the line of property — comes to the said wood Creek, & where thence Northerly the [Northeast part?] of the tract to be granted to [John [Lormin]] North. Runs along the [Westerly] bounds of the said [tract to] the the southwest corner thereof, thence to the northwest corner of the [tract] granted to [James Storm], thence along the westerly bounds thereof to the southwest corner of [said?] tract, thence due south until it intersects a due east line from the head of the [undecipherable] [Ottela] River, thence from the said point of intersection due east until it intersects the said [Susquehanna?] or the [undecipherable] River, thence from the said point of intersection due east until it meets the [undecipherable] opening [thence?] due north, thence the nearest course to the [Chenango] Creek thence along the said Creek to the [undecipherable] place of beginning, so as to comprehend all the lands belonging to the said Oneida and Tuscarora Nation lying south of the said partition line.
