Hayward will set off tomorrow having in charge the sum of Fourteen thousand three hundred & eighty one Dollars, being for pay & forage for the month of Jan^y last for the troops of the United States on the Ohio & its communication, agreeably to my estimate of the 20^th Ultt. — I now inclose an audit of charges against sundry Officers & the abstracts of Moor. In conformity — I have just received your letter of 2^d Ultt covering sundry rolls, & the warrant of the Commander in chief &tc — I have never received from M^r Buel an account of his transactions for the year 1791. Tried the rolls from Pittsburgh but they were for in 1792 & only of the troops there present, As well as your return of balances due to dead, disdf'd men &c — I must have the Settlements on which these balances arise, as the Same would will be entered in my books & untill that is done of it is improper for me to make the
