The Secretary of War requests that you will please to forward to him by the way of Newyork — Forty suits of infantry Clothing say for [undecipherable: two] [undecipherable: small] [undecipherable: Captls] — As there are no shoes in your Store I enclose you an order on Wilkenton Smith at Newyork for One hundred and sixty pairs — please to forward it to him. The Clothing had better be sent from New York to Chauncy Whittlesey Esqr at Middletown Connecticut who will forward the same to Springfield —
