Sir
You are to take notice that the money placed in your hands is to be applied to the express purposes for which the same was advanced.
If you shou'd deem it necessary to advance a sum to any Officer for recruiting, the business must be done in your name and the Settlement be made by him to you, & that in your Settlement at this Office the transaction will not appear separately as no such advance can be admitted to your Credit upon the Officers Receipt, for it is impossible to trace the Accountability of money when it is so dispersly advanced. —
