you will receive the further Sums of 705519/100 doll: for the
pay of Sundry Scouts Rangers & Militia Called out for the
defence of the Frontiers of the United States the State of Pennsyl-
vania and of Virginias agreeably to a Schedule of which you
have a Copy for which monies you are to Consider yourself
accountable untill you arrive at Fort Washington where
after paying as is hereafter directed, you will pay Such
part as may remain in your hands to Mr Caleb Swan
appointed Paymaster to the Troops of the United States — from
the monies you have received for the Scouts Rangers & Militia
you will please to pay to Such of the County Lieutenants
as you may See the Amot due the Scouts & as were Called —
into Service by them taking triplicate Receipts for the Same
which you will deliver Mr Swan who will give you
triplicate Receipts for all your payments as well as the
money returned — These Receipts you will Send on as Soon
as possible that I may be enabled to Charge Mr Swan
and exonerate You —
