I have just received yours of the 22d. ultimo.
The howitzers you request, shall, with the approbation of the President of the United States be furnished —
Your Congratulations to the President shall be presented.
The President has nominated as Commissioners to treat with the Indians, General Lincoln, Colonel Pickering & Beverly Randolph late Governor of Virginia. —
The Promotions which have taken place will be transmitted by your return Express, who will set out in three days. —
I shall then write more fully, the post having but just arrived and the time of its departure just at hand —
