Sir—
A[ff]o of Discount & Deposit Charleston February 15. 1793
Sometime since I was favoured with your letter of 15 [undecipherable] covering a letter to John Habersham Esqr of Savannah in Georgia, with an order on me from the Cashier of the Bank in his favour, to amount of Two Thousand Seven hundred & forty four Dollars, also two blank receipts [strikethrough: [undecipherable]] for him to sign on being paid that Sum— I had an opportunity of forwarding said letter with the receipt to him a few days after they had reach'd my hands— but did not hear from Mr Habersham till a day or two since— when he return'd the receipts with his name hereto advising that he had drawn upon me for Two Thousand Dollars— and requested that I would remit the Ballance of 744 Dollars to him by one of the Packet Vessels that fly between this & Savannah— the which I expect this day to cause to in 872 of Bank Notes by one of them, and the remainder quickly after. — and as the Captains [undecipherable: probable reading Welsh] & [undecipherable: probable reading Burrows] are now ready to sail for Philadelphia— I have the pleasure of forwarding two of said receipts by each of them, and hope they may speedily reach your hands.—
I am with due Respect— Sir, Your very Humble Servant—
