Sir,
I transmit you the copy of a letter from the Secretary of the Treasury of this day, with an enclosure, respecting the Hats delivered in Store, under the contract of Danackee and Young. The Secretary of war requests your particular attention thereto, and that you will please to make such arrangements for the preservation of the Hats, from injury, as you shall think most adviseable.
