Joseph Strong Surgeon Mate the bearer of the Money for the Pay & forage of the troops for the months of Aug. & Sept. 1792, amounting 31814 dollars remitted agreeably to the inclosed list — You also have herewith a continuation of the Aud[itor's] warr.t drawn — a continuation [interlinear: of the Statement] of the personal [strikethrough: to the accounts of officers] to [blank] general accounts of officers & a list of charges against Officers commencing the 1st Jan.y 1793 [excepting] The [Accts.] of the Officers of the first Reg.t being in a very unsettled state owing to the Regimental accounts being open I am not able [to] collect their charges prior to the 1st of Jan.y 1793 [at present] I have therefore to press the [Settlement] of the Regimd. accounts, for want of which I am not able to make paym.t to Cap.t Idam & c. who are recruits —
I inclose a letter for Cap.t [undecipherable] directing him to pay the balance of his late levy [undecipherable] to you — [strikethrough: I wish them also one] for Cap.t Brook [strikethrough: to bear] — having written several times respecting the levy amounts, I wish to receive some information on this head — I also inclose pay bills of the detachm.t of Cap.t Pike, Pratt, Flower & Adams Com.d paid to the [strikethrough: 31 Decem.r 179] You will write me immediately by post [strikethrough: and to the den] on the arrival of the [inclosed] money, let all your communications be under cover to the Sec.y of War as his letters are free from postage —
