I several times have written M^r. Britt on this Subject & to which I beg you to refer, & fix the matter immediately as I am determined to cease my interference therein — The bearer Doct. Joseph [undecipherable] Strong Surgeon Mate has recd the pay for the troops for Aug^t & Sep^t [undecipherable] amounting by my Estimate — Doll. 32,134 deduct this sum in the hands of W. Britt being for the pay of Sundry Scout of Bourbon County — which which has since been paid here & J.M.
