Your letter by Mr Mifflin of the 4th instant was received this morning — I can give you no farther explanation of the 533 dollars charged to General Wilkinson, than the following Mo — on the 5th of September I paid him 50 dollars on account at his written request, that on the 1st October I paid I Carueal 3 dollars on his account at his Written request, and that on the 11th November he drew a peremptory Warrant on me for five hundred dollars to be placed to his own proper account, which was paid accordingly to his Aid de Camp, which last sum he told me Mr Bailey was for the Relief of family of Major Adams Militia who were intended to be discharged after their defeat at St Clair. But on the final settlement of Adams pay roll he exhibited no charge against any of the said Militia, and consequently the Dep Hands to his own proper account as expressed in the Warrant.
Your letters and papers addressed to me through Mr Belli and your letter of Novr 9th and enclosures were received by me at Legion Ville on the 7th instant and will be attended to —
I am getting in train as fast as possible to render you an accurate Statement of all my past transactions and shall lose no time in Completing it
