It gives me Real pain to find that complaints have been Made of Transactions in which I am Concerned. — At the same time I am Astonished that Capt Henley has been so very hasty in making a Report that has no just foun- dation — The Cloathing for the several Corps, were packed up in Philadelph[ia] and Addressed to the Commanding Officers of the first Regiment, and Captains of Companies, of the Other Corps Respectively [undecipherable] Cloathing was Made out in the [undecipherable] by Col[undecipherable] [undecipherable] [undecipherable] by his order [undecipherable] receive [undecipherable] Officer [undecipherable] [undecipherable] packages [undecipherable] packages two [undecipherable] is put up here by order of Colonel [undecipherable] to make up some deficiencies of [undecipherable] Blankets &c. I believe every Possible [undecipherable] were taken in Picking up these different articles The Other Packages that were sent forward with [undecipherable]. But as I have found but few articles in articles put up in Philadelphia, I have reason to believe that Captain Henley will find all those Packages agreeable to Invoice, Cap^t Henley's Cloathing and Stores were put up Separate and [undecipherable] to him at Marietta and in Order to save Cap^t Henley the Trouble of opening the Stationery, an [undecipherable] was pack'd up in a small box addressed to Cap^t Henley. This Box [undecipherable] Henley might have found had he paid a little atten- tion to opening the box, which was done in a few Hours & in such Haste that I dont know that some Articles have gone on [undecipherable] without being noticed. However [undecipherable] Omitted and [undecipherable] [undecipherable] was only omitted in [undecipherable] [undecipherable] [undecipherable] Henley [undecipherable]
