Request for reimbursement, payment for Presley Nevill, General St Clair, winter quarters, and working conditions
Document 1793From Isaac Craig at Pittsburg, enclosed is Michael Stevens receipt for payment of carriage of General St. Clair; baggage and store to Pittsburg. Mentions General Wayne. If this cannot be done, plan to let clerks call on General St. Clair for reimbursement of the money. His account has been paid. In order to enable Colonel Nevill to purchase some necessary articles for family, Craig has taken the liberty of drawing $100 and hopes it will not be inconvenient to pay that sum. Refers to the troops at Legion Ville. Has not had a moment to spare from daylight every morning to 8 o'clock at night. Craig thinks he has enemies somewhere, God knowing his place is not much to be envied, his duty, responsibility and pay all considered.
