Description

From James O'Hara to Secretary of War Knox, O'Hara reports that Captain Prior, with 16 Indians, 3 squaws and 3 interpreters arrived at Pittsburgh and proceeded to Philadelphia on horseback. Knox has O'Hara's instructions to the furnish the Indians on the road and to remain with them in Philadelphia. Enclosure to Mr Salander gives instructions to set out from Wabash to Philadelphia on public service and prepare for their departure every necessary accommodation. On arrival in Philadelphia report to Secretary of War and report number of saddles, horses, and bridles. Compensation will be $1 each day, use of public horse, and expenses of $400. Keep accounts of all expenditures, taking proper vouchers for all.
