I thank you for Capt Williamson's sensible letter, and Smallies [strikethrough: [undecipherable]] information — Mayor Butler at Carlile sometime ago informed me of Smallies arrival at that place, and departure for Head quarters — and he also transmitted me the purport of Smallies information — I must however take a copy of the paper transmitted by Capt Williamson and return it to you — The letter I now return with thanks —
