The Secretary of War directs, that you repair to the City of New York, where you will remain until further orders on the recruiting Service.
You will recruit for the Legion of the United States, and the Men you inlist are to be sent to West Point, to the care of Captain Bezaleel Howe, where they will be clothed and accomodated with Quarters.
The Sum of Two hundred and fifty dollars is placed in your hands for this service.
