[Endorsed: Dated Oct. 28. 1792 / David Allison.] [Addressed: The Honble Henry Knox esquire / Secretary of War] Nine Street N° 193 Sunday October 28^th 1792 Sir Since I left your house I have the following in-formation which I beg leave to communicate — This brought by a M^r Reed from the falls of the Ohio who arrived here last evening. On his way he met with M^r [undecipherable: Green?] from Nashville who says that five or six hundred Indians in the beginning of this Month had a [undecipherable] on the Frontiers of Cumberland and attacked a Station, the event of which I have not learned, that a party of the Militia about seven hundred pursued the Indians, overtook them, and a small Skirmish ensued in which it is said about a Dozen Indians were killed the others dispersed in such manner they could not be pursued — I did not learn that any of the Militia were killed but that several were wounded — I go in search of M^r Reed and hope to be able to get some more certain information, of which I shall do myself the honor to give you immediate Information I have the honor to be Sir with very great Respect and Esteem Your most Obedient Humble Servant David Allison The Honble Henry Knox esquire Secretary of War
