I have recd your letter of 13th Inst & agreeable to your request I have by Melanothon Smith Esqr transmitted the sum of Four Hundred & Twenty Nine Dollars & 16c. the amount of your pay role, also Fifty four dollars being the pay of Serg Levi Hunk to his 1st Inst. — You will also receive from Mr Smith One Hundred & Ninety eight dollars which you will deliver to Mr George Fleming for the Pay of the detachment of Kittaws Stationed at West Point, you will receipt to Mr Smith for all this Money separately for each sum. & take the and give Mr Fleming receipt for his Money — If it is inconvenient for you in the course of this quarter of the year to come forward for the settlement of your account, you will forward your accounts and vouchers by post by the middle of December inorder to be entered before the balancing of my books — You will probably be the Secretary of War in New York, who will no doubt make such arrangement as the State of your accounting may require —
