[undecipherable] Philadelphia 2^d October 1792 [undecipherable] I have Received your letter of the 29 Ultimo <th> but not entering but thousand Dollars on Bank Notes which will to some degree Relieve me from Embarrassment, till a Return from some forward — At the time I sent a Statement of the balance due my during Your administration, by some Conversation with Capt Abens, I By presume that the two thou and dollar Remitted by M^r Knox, was to be Carried into the present Quarter Master Generals Act — which was the Reason that sum was not Credited — one Reason that all the Vouchers have not been Sent, is, that M^r Read Expected you would have increased his pay as Clerk, for which purpose he Wrote to You on that Subject, but has not Received Your Answer — You Will please to Recollect that before your departure from this place — I handed you the [undecipherable] three Steven Receipts for Cash paid him for Carriage of Your [undecipherable] Plain Store, & one Steven of [undecipherable] in [undecipherable] proper Voucher can be Obtained, by throwing from his [undecipherable] Receipts, the Other Vouchers, I Shall forward by next Post — I am much Obliged to you for sending the [undecipherable] for family & [undecipherable] I am Sir Your obt [undecipherable]
