Know all men by these presents, that Robert Chambers formerly a Private in Capt. [undecipherable] Company, [undecipherable] Moyars the 5th [undecipherable] Battalion and also [undecipherable] Company of Artillery in the Service of the United States of America and at present a Pensioner have made, ordained, and constituted, and by these presents do make, ordain, and constitute, and in my place and stead, put and depute Frederick Molineux of the City of Philadelphia my
true and lawful attorney, for me and in my name and for my use, to ask, demand, sue for, recover, and receive all such sums of money, debts, goods, wares, accounts, and other demands whatsoever, as are or shall be due, owing, payable, and belonging to or detained from me by any manner of ways or means whatsoever, by the United States of America or their [undecipherable] or any persons acting by or under their authority, the Pay or Arrearages of Pay and all other gratuities [undecipherable] due and owed for my Service in the [undecipherable] as above mentioned and for the Arrearages of my Pension also
giving and granting unto my said attorney, by these presents my full and whole power, strength and authority, in and about the premises, to have, use, and take all lawful ways and means in my name, for the recovery thereof. And upon the receipt of any such debt, dues, or sums of money aforesaid, acquittance, or other sufficient discharges, for me and in my name, to make, seal and deliver. And generally, all and every other act or acts, thing and things, device and devices in the law whatever needful and necessary to be done in and about the premisses, for the recovery of all act and all debts or sums of money aforesaid, for me and in my name, to do, execute and perform, as fully, largely and amply in all intents and purposes, as I myself could do, if I was personally present, or as if the matter required more special authority than is here given; constituting one or more, under attorneys for the purpose aforesaid, to make and constitute, and again at pleasure to revoke. Ratifying, allowing, and holding for firm and effectual, all and whatsoever my said attorney shall lawfully do in and about the premisses by virtue hereof.
