Description

Opposition of western settlers to the boundary line as stipulated by the treaty of New York between Creek Nation and U.S. Every opportunity sought to provoke war with Indians. Stated Indian War would adversely affect the economy and trade relations. Also cited Indian relations with other nations as nothing but warm and sincere. Stated it would be criminal negligence to ignore the gross infraction of public tranquility. Authorized use of power of office to crush insurrections.
