Dear Sir —
To day I received your letter of the 8 instant — No money can be received from the Pay Office until accompanied by Estimate — I have mentioned your request to the Secretary of War he directs that all the vouchers you have for monies paid on settlements be forward ed immediately — and a List of the outstanding Debts under my Administration, noting the sums advanced on each — and an estimate to compleat their discharge in full — when this is done a sum equal to your engagements will be placed in your hands — until it is done, it is impossible to guess what sum will be Necessary — Enclosed you have your original amounts, on which is noted the
make ment, which makes it an exact Copy of the One rendered for adjustment —
I shall take the same care of your commands and requests, as I do of my own — and you may rest assured I will see you exhonerated from every engagement of yours on Public account without a moments unnecessary loss of time —
I am
Sir,
Your Most Obedient Servant
