Sir,
I have Rec'd your favour of the 27 Ultimo. I have not [undecipherable] Hamilton nor do I think he has yet arrived or soon as I see him I shall inform him of the Mistake made by Mr. Cole[undecipherable] —
On the 15th Ultimo I inclosed a Schedule of the Charges against the Quartermaster Department at this Post during your Administration, Vouchers for a Considerable Number of those Amongst Those on hand Some of them are only Partially Paid. I Expected a Remittance by last Post to have Enabled me to Discharge the whole of my Engagements & have forwarded the whole of the Vouchers at one time, the Present Q.M. Gen'l. has desired me not to Apply Moneys Rec'd from [undecipherable] to Pay off the [undecipherable] Therefore I have most Earnestly to Request [undecipherable] & Discharge [undecipherable] Obligations [undecipherable] any Errors that may have got into my Rec'd. I make no doubt but it will be Rights, be Pleased to send me Either the Originals or a Copy of the Abstracts of my Disbursements —
