Pittsburg 17th August 1792.
Dear Sir,
I was this morning preparing a number of Vouchers to send you by Post but on receiving yours of the 10th Instant thinks it will be more convenient to the Settlement of your Accounts to have the whole of the Vouchers together, this I shall have done by next Post as I shall give me the Bills for such Balances as are now against me untill Money is remitted & hereby obtain Vouchers for all the Charges against the War Department during your administration.
The Secy. is displeased with William Knox, I think he has employed improper Waggoners in several Instances men who are not to be depended on.
John Widmer set off yesterday, he carries with him Newman's Stores but could not take charge of Major Gaither's, it shall be sent as soon as possible. Capt Henley arrived yesterday, that delivered the Horses for. I believe it is not will understood whether he is to continue there or to go to Fort Washington.
If Mr Knox has on Hour to spare be pleased to write him to send me a supply of Sugar Loafs such as he sent last summer — we are entirely out of this Article.
