I have received your letter of the 1st instant and now enclose you a Copy of Henry Bowyer's order for the letter directed to him which came to me in your letter of the 8th of May, and as to [undecipherable] alias Murray receipt for the same —
The letter alluded to in Capt. Bowyer's letter to me was immediately forwarded to the Secretary of War since which another letter has been recd from Capt. Bowyer addressed to the Secretary of War which was also immediately forwarded on the receipt — the latter I presume contained his acknowledgement for the five [undecipherable] Dollars —

I received yours of the 10th last month informing me a letter from the Secretary of War is directed to one named [undecipherable] Murray which letter contained [undecipherable] note to the amount of five hundred Dollars as you were informed, at my [undecipherable] will not [undecipherable] of any [undecipherable] application. You will please to deliver the [same] letter to the Bearer M: Archibald Murray who will pass a receipt [undecipherable] for the same for [undecipherable] M: Murray to [undecipherable] the letter in your [undecipherable] that you may be a [undecipherable] to that [undecipherable] —
I have taken the liberty of enclosing a letter to the Secretary of War, to be forwarded by you. Which please to forward by the first Post. I have requested the Secretary of War to direct any [undecipherable] he [undecipherable] for me to your care, Should any come to your hands please to [undecipherable] [undecipherable] for my affectionately to [undecipherable]
