And you must have made some mistake in [undecipherable] the money to Captain [undecipherable] as your letter of [9^th?] at the time merely that the money came to your hands you carefully acknowledge the receipt of the whole two hundred Dollars. It is hardly possible that the mistake could have been committed in the remittance, as in the last instance the Bills were previously directed to be made out at Bank, they were then counted to me & carefully enclosed. The Numbers were N^o 1824 to 1848. In consequence of your acknowledgement of receiving the full sum the difference can not be repaid on your request to [undecipherable] at any rate I have no authority to authorize it.
