I have furnished Mr. [Magoon?] with their [undecipherable] for the property & hauling [them?] from the [Public?] Department to Fort [Hamilton?] to the Garrison - at a price that [was?] from two hundred & fifty dollars, which will be a very great acquisition. But I have a little — About ½ past one o'Clock on the morning of the 4^th [Inst.?], the Indians broke the [enclosure?] which held the cattle at Fort Jefferson & drove off the whole (viz [16?] head) not more. [That?] the Goods from the Garrison — about ½ past [10?] of the same day, the Men [one?] of them was taken [on?] Gen[eral?]. [undecipherable]'s expedition, (whose name is [undecipherable] of [Ziegler?]'s) and a Man of Capt.
